2024 VBS Seminar Recap

Bogard Press’ 2024 Vacation Bible School Seminar is in the books! We enjoyed a wonderful morning of training, encouragement, equipping and inspiration. SHINE! VBS will prove to be a great tool for the churches this year.

We began the morning by learning to teach the lesson, “Mystery at the House of Dagon,” presented by Elizabeth Stacks. This lesson is from 1 Samuel 5 and teaches students to guard against idolatry, trusting Jesus Christ alone as God.

Next, Jarod New led a session on teaching the lesson, “Ruth and Boaz: A Love Story,” from the book of Ruth. This romantic account actually points students to the love Jesus has for mankind and His willingness to redeem them.

The third session was led by Ryan Smith who gave pointers on how to teach the lesson, “Donkey’s Don’t Lie,” from Numbers 22. This humorous account turns serious when students learn of the pain and separation from God caused by sin. This painful reality directs mankind to repent and seek forgiveness from God through Jesus Christ.

Session four was led by Kelli Reynolds who encouraged attendees through the lesson, “The Giant Slayer,” from 1 Samuel 17. This familiar action-packed account of David and Goliath reminds students of the victory Christ has won over sin and death.

Next, Amber Coburn led the fifth session through the lesson, “The Leaping King,” from 2 Samuel 6. This music-filled episode in Scripture teaches students to worship God by living a life that glorifies Him. Students are encouraged to worship God with the same intensity and focus as King David did, leading the ark of the covenant back to Jerusalem.

The morning ended with Elizabeth Stacks inspiring the attendees with encouragement, pointers and ideas for directing VBS. The morning was filled with sweet fellowship, great VBS music and solid instructional ideas, sending the attendees home with excitement to lead their own VBS events.

We are thankful for all the hard work that went into this event, as well as our presenters. If you were not able to attend or watch live, you may watch the Seminar at your own convenience on our Facebook or Vimeo pages. We are praying for you as you prepare to SHINE! for Jesus Christ in your own Vacation Bible School.
