The Program of the Resurrection

“For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive,” 1 Corinthians 15:21, 22.

When a person dies, there are many things that need to be done before they can be buried. Without going into much detail, there are many things that the funeral home must accomplish in order for the person to be able to be buried. If there is to be a service for the person, then the family or someone close to the individual must put together information for the service, photos collected, decisions made for poems, songs, speakers and whatever else they may desire to have in the service. In the end, this is all to say goodbye, remember their life, put their body in their final resting place. No preparation is made or talked about concerning their resurrection; there is no program for this.

When Jesus came into this world, every aspect of his life was already on God’s program including His resurrection from the dead. God had the program already planned as it pertained to death; this happened with Adam. He also had on the program that there would be a remedy for death, and that would be life through Jesus Christ (verse 22). The resurrection of the dead to life originates in the work Jesus did when He arose from the dead and became the first born from the dead. By Jesus being the first born of the dead, it elevated Him and shows His proper place, “And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence” (Colossians 1:18).

THOUGHT

It was always on God’s program for Jesus to be able to taste death for us (Hebrews 2:9). The program has also included a resurrection plan for you if you will get on the program with the Lord.
