Bogard Press Tour and Field Trip Programs
God has seen fit to sustain the complete publication ministry of Bogard Press in Texarkana for more than 100 years. As long as ABA churches have needed biblically accurate and practical Christian education curriculum, Bogard Press has been able to serve the literature needs of the churches. Bogard Press uniquely serves under the oversight of the Baptist Sunday School Committee, answerable to the churches of the ABA. We think it would be beneficial if the churches of the ABA, as well as other interested schools and organizations, had the privilege of touring the facilities at Bogard Press.
Bogard Press is a complete publishing company—from ideation to design, from printing to shipping—located at 4605 North State Line in Texarkana, TX. We want to invite you to come take a tour of the facilities. On your tour, you will observe and learn about:
· Book Outlining, Writing and Editing. Each book begins as an idea, and when the manuscripts arrive, our editors make corrections in spelling, grammar, punctuation, doctrine and readability.
· Art, Graphic Design and Desktop Publishing. Once the book is edited, the artist draws artwork, the desktop publishers lay out the book and then design a book cover.
· Printing Presses, Stitching and Trimming. The book is sent to the printing press (we have three), where it is printed, stapled and trimmed to final book size.
· Inventory, Warehouse and Shipping. After the book copies are printed, they need to be catalogued and inventoried until it’s time to assemble the packages and ship them.
· Marketing, Customer Service and Selling. Who will buy the book? We need to create advertisements and talk to the customers about buying it. The tour will end in the bookstore.
