Daily Devotional for Friday, November 14
Wisdom Gives Life
“Wisdom is good with an inheritance: and by it there is profit to them that see the sun. For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it,” Ecclesiastes 7: 11, 12.
The Preservation of Wisdom—Wisdom preserves our lives and enhances our heritage. Unlike material wealth, which can be fleeting, wisdom provides enduring value, guiding us through life’s challenges. It ensures us that our inheritance—be it material, spiritual or intellectual—benefits not just us but also those around us. Wisdom gives us the discernment to use our resources judiciously, ensuring our legacy remains impactful.
The Protection of Wisdom—Wisdom acts as a shield, protecting us from the pitfalls and dangers of life. While money can offer temporary security, wisdom provides a deeper, more substantial form of protection. It helps us make sound decisions, avoid harmful paths and navigate complex situations. This divine insight guards our hearts and minds, leading us toward righteousness and away from folly.
The Perspective of Wisdom—Wisdom gives us a broader perspective on life, helping us understand and accept God’s sovereignty. It reminds us that some things are beyond our control and comprehension, urging us to trust in God’s greater plan. This perspective brings peace, knowing that God’s wisdom surpasses our understanding and that He works all things for our good.
DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT
As we seek God’s wisdom, let us remember its incomparable value, allowing it to guide our steps and shape our lives for His glory.
