The Face of Wisdom
“Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? A man’s wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed. Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him,” Ecclesiastes 8:1, 12..
“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding” (Proverbs 4:7). Ecclesiastes is a reminder that your pursuits are all vanity. Yet, there remains one thing you should not neglect. This is wisdom. If you live in folly, you will not only have heartache in this life, but also there will be shame at the appearing of Jesus Christ.
Walking in wisdom does not mean you will not experience unfortunate circumstances, but it does mean you can have peace through them because peace is not dependent on what you are experiencing, it is dependent on your faith in the Lord. Your inward peace and security in God will show outward in your countenance.
Wisdom is an understanding that you realize all things are in God’s hands. In every purpose there is a time and a judgment. Time is wasted trying to understand things that are happening, but the only understanding you should seek is that God is the One in control. You have no control over life or death and that may scare you. Death is something that is inevitable, and it seems to come too easily to some and past time for others.
It is too easy to get weary when you see sinners prosper and their days have been prolonged. Yet, it will remain well with you to remember to fear God. For the saint and the sinner alike will have a judgment day.
SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Stop wasting time trying to control the things you cannot. Instead, walk in wisdom, trusting that the Lord is over all things.
