The Gift of Jesus Christ
2 Corinthians 9:15
“Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift,” 2 Corinthians 9:15.
With these simple yet profound words, Paul concluded his thoughts on giving by lifting our eyes to the greatest gift ever given—Jesus Christ. Every act of Christian generosity finds its root in Him. When we reflect on God’s immeasurable kindness, our hearts can only echo Paul’s gratitude: “Thanks be unto God!”
The word “unspeakable” captures the wonder of Christ’s gift. No words can fully describe the depth of God’s love displayed in His Son. Jesus left Heaven’s glory to take on human flesh, to walk our roads, bear our sorrows and die for our sins. Through His sacrifice, we have been given forgiveness, peace and eternal life. There is no greater treasure.
Every blessing we enjoy, salvation, grace, hope and comfort, flows from this one divine gift. And, because we have received so freely, we are called to give freely. Our generosity becomes an act of worship, a reflection of the heart of God. When we give to others, whether through kindness, encouragement or provision, we are simply passing on what we have already received in Christ.
Let this verse draw you back to the wonder of God’s grace. Take a moment to thank Him for the gift beyond measure—His Son, who meets every need of the human heart. No sermon, no song and no sacrifice can ever equal that gift, yet our gratitude can shine through lives lived for His glory.
Thought for Today
Pause and thank God for the “unspeakable gift” of Jesus Christ. Let His love move you to live generously, serve joyfully and share freely; for when we give from grateful hearts, we reflect the very heart of our Savior.
