Giving More than Enough

Exodus 36:3-7

“And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing. For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much,” Exodus 36:6, 7.
Sometimes when my husband and I are working on a project, either together or separately, we will need to go to the store, maybe more than once, to buy more material. Even though we had taken the time to calculate the amount of material needed, we still run out sometimes. However, sometimes we have material left over, which is a blessing because we can save it for future projects. Better yet, God blesses and sometimes materials were given.
When it was time to build the Tabernacle, God told Moses to tell the people to give what was needed with a willing heart. “Take ye from among you an offering unto the Lord: whosoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the Lord; gold, and silver, and brass” (Exodus 35:5). Then it goes on to list all the things they should bring as an offering. Verses 21, 22 states, “And they came, every one whose heart stirred him up, and every one whom his spirit made willing, and they brought the Lord’s offering to the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and for all his service, and for the holy garments. And they came, both men and women, as many as were willing hearted, and brought bracelets, and earrings, and rings, and tablets, all jewels of gold: and every man that offered offered an offering of gold unto the Lord.”
The people were more than willing to give what was needed. So much so that Moses had to tell the people to stop bringing their material. What a problem to have!

Something to Think About
As you give to God and His work, He will bless you abundantly so there will never be lack.
