BSSC CEO’s February 1, 2026 PR Report:
Winter has arrived in Texarkana in a big way with sleet, ice, and snow shutting our operations down for two days and hindering them for another two days. God is good, however, to see us through these times and all is well. The ice, being about 2” think on our building has presented some challenges with one heater failing and for some reason, when the ice and snow sit on the roof, we have leaks that we don’t have when it rains. All of this is being managed.
Our conversion in printing is going well with some of our printing being done in-building and some of it outside through an outsource contractor. Printing and shipping processes are generally on schedule.
Looking at our finances for the previous year (2025), we had a challenging year. Our Profit and Loss sheet will show a loss for 2025 mostly due to problems we had with presses. I commend our employees throughout the building for hard work and faithfulness during some trying times. So far, I believe 2026 will be a much better year in many ways, especially with our VBS program, “Wonder.” Other new products will be soon appearing at Bogard Press and they make the future look positive indeed. I commend and appreciate the good job our Editorial Department is doing with the literature. The VBS Seminar will be February 28 at Northern Hills Baptist Church in Texarkana. Participants may join us either in person or online. We appreciate Northern Hills BC for their kindness and generosity in hosting this event.
I am presently in the process of moving to Texarkana, Arkansas. This move will help me be more accessible to the work. While the Crain family regrets having to leave our wonderful church, Calvary Baptist Church in Magnolia, Arkansas, we do look forward to what God may have for us in the future.
Anytime you are in the Texarkana area, come and visit with us at the Baptist Bookstore and Bogard Press. We are here to serve the churches of the American Baptist Association. We desire to be a help to the people of God
J. A. Crain
