The Subject of Prayer
“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” Luke 11:13.
Throughout history there are many instances when people gave incredibly extravagant gifts to others they respected or loved greatly. In 2011 an American celebrity singer, songwriter gave her husband a trip to space via Virginia Galactic. She dropped a cool $156,000 on a ticket that was literally “out of this world.” Sadly though, she did not go with her husband to the stars.
Jesus knew that mankind, even in our fallen state is capable of giving amazing gifts. What does this have to do with prayer? It is paramount that those who come to God know that we can trust our Heavenly Father’s heart toward us. Our Heavenly Father is pure and holy in comparison to man so just imagine how good His intentions always are. Most importantly, He will confirm His presence by His Holy Spirit if we but only ask.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Child of God, you can always trust the heart of your Heavenly Father, and the confirmation of His presence is only a prayer away.
