Rejoice in Your Labour

“Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion,” Ecclesiastes 5:18.

Solomon offered profound wisdom on finding joy and contentment in our work. He observed that enjoying the fruits of one’s labor is not only good but also a divine gift.

Solomon emphasized the importance of finding joy in our daily work. Rather than viewing labor as a burden or merely a means to an end, we are encouraged to embrace it as a source of satisfaction. This perspective transforms our work from a monotonous routine into a fulfilling experience, aligning with God’s intent for our lives.

Recognizing that the ability to enjoy our labor is a gift from God helps cultivate gratitude. When we acknowledge that everything we have is ultimately from Him, our work becomes an opportunity to honor God. Gratitude shifts our focus from what we lack to appreciating the abundance we have.

Solomon noted that those who rejoiced in their labor were less likely to dwell on the fleeting nature of life. By finding joy in our daily activities and trusting in God’s provision, we are reminded that our earthly work has eternal significance when done in faith and joy.

DAILY MEDITATION
