The Faithfulness of God

“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it,” 1 Corinthians 10:13.

Have you ever seen on television where they put little kids in a room and tell them not to touch or eat something that is really tempting to the child? They sometimes offer them an even bigger reward if they do not give in to the temptation. At times, they will even come back into the room to reinforce and encourage them to hold strong or give them something else to focus on to take away the temptation. But so many times the temptation is too great for them, and they give in to it.

The children of Israel had gone through many trials and testing’s throughout their history and failed many of them. God used their mistakes as an example for you to learn from (verse 11) because He wants you to succeed. He also warns you if you think you do not need these examples and think that you do not have to worry about failing the temptations, “Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall” (verse 12). You may not always realize that the Lord is trying to help you to be successful, “But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil” (2 Thessalonians 3:3). The one thing you can count on is that the Lord is faithful in giving you what you need in order to keep you from failing.

JUST A THOUGHT

Be aware of and open to the help that God wants to give you. “Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it” (1 Thessalonians 5:24).
