Jeroboam II, Israel’s Thirteenth Ruler

“In the fifteenth year of Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel began to reign in Samaria, and reigned forty and one years. And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord: he departed not from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin,” 2 Kings 14:23, 24.

Romans 14:16, “Let not then your good be evil spoken of.” It is amazing how the Lord gives every person a chance to write their own story in life. You can see this axiom displayed in the life of King Jeroboam II.
Jeroboam II was the thirteenth King of Israel, and he reigned in Israel for forty-one years. The summary of his reign was, “And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord: he departed not from all the sins of Jeroboam the son Nebat, who made Israel to sin” (2 Kings 14:24). Jeroboam had the opportunity as King, to lead Israel in the way that pleased the Lord, however, he chose to lead the people to continue in sin.
When you received Jesus Christ as your Savior, God gave you a new opportunity to write your own story as a child of God. To have a life story that pleases God, seeks to obey His Word and not to continue in sin should be your goal. If you continue in sin, you can diminish the good things God can do through your life.

FINAL THOUGHT
Desire that your story brings God glory.
