No Goodness or Trust in the Land

“Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom,” Micah 7:5.
A team of ballplayers with great talent will not be a good team without trust. Trust is the foundation for any relationship, whether it be in a family, parenting, business, athletics, church or any other relationship between people.
Micah found himself in an environment absent of trust and good people which put him in a place of danger and evil. Because there was a lack of good people and trust in the land, Micah found himself surrounded by people filled with violence, deceit, corrupt motives, tricky schemes, bad attitudes and cutting tongues. Friends were hard to find, counsel could not be trusted, intimate relationships were at best sketchy. Family relationships were in disarray, children did not honor parents, mother and daughter were unkind to each other, mother and daughter-in-law were adversaries, those who were to be the closest to him were the ones who caused the most pain.
This fits the description of the world we live in today, when people do not trust God good things and good people dissipate. The Bible declares in Psalm 37:3, “Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.” Trusting in the Lord is the key to anything good to happen in your life. Living without trust or anyone to show you good or do good to you or for you makes life difficult. Trusting the Lord gives you someone to look to that will show you good, serving the Lord gives you happy anticipation of seeing something good, salvation from the Lord puts you in position for all things to work together for good. The Lord’s church is to keep God’s presence in the land and is to be a place that you can experience the goodness of the Lord.

FINAL THOUGHT
Goodness comes from God’s hand and God’s house.
