Paul’s Trip to Asia
“Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us,” 2 Corinthians 1:10.
The apostle Paul surely knew a bit about trouble. He also knew about God’s deliverance from trouble and danger. Paul trusted God, whether he lived as he did throughout all his missionary journeys or died as he ultimately did in Rome. How could Paul be so comforted and satisfied no matter the circumstances he faced? How could Paul face so much danger, persecution and ultimately death with such acceptance and calmness?
Paul understood what God had truly rescued him from, and he understood the spiritual death he faced before being saved by the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul knew that he had been hell bound and was now Heaven bound. God is with you and will deliver you. If you are saved, then you have been given the most important deliverance of all. You will be in eternity with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Does that mean something in this earthly life? Of course it does! God had a plan in place from eternity past to save the creation that He knew would not fail Him. Then He put that plan into action to bring the possibility of salvation to every person past, present and future; therefore, He certainly has the power to get you through whatever this life brings.
Just a Thought
If it is God’s plan to bring you out of danger, then it will happen. If it is God’s plan for you to come home, then greater things await you there.
