Wisdom Will Sanctify You

“Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver and searchest for her as for hid treasures,” Proverbs 2:3, 4.

Have you ever seen a janitor with his key ring? It is not an average key ring; it is bigger than most you will see because of the number of keys it needs to hold. When I was a child, I remember looking at it and thinking, Wow! Look at all those keys; he has access to a lot of places.” It was like he was important because he had the keys.

In many cases, you might be the only one with access to a certain place. If a key is lost (or locked in the car), panic sets in. You scurry through everything you can think of to find the key. You need the key for entry. When a key is lost, you do not have access which may bring about dire consequences.

You need physical keys for doors, cars, safes or locks that help you. Your salvation has given you the keys to have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Realizing you were a sinner who needed salvation, you called upon Him for forgiveness and received Him as Savior. Yet, this is just the beginning of living a sanctified life.

In salvation, God gives wisdom to anyone who will ask for it and seek it. Walking in wisdom means you are relying on the Holy Spirit to direct your life. You will choose not only good things, but more importantly, you will choose the right things. It is not always easy to walk in wisdom, but God gives grace and blessings for those who choose to do so.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

Man has his own wisdom which he often thinks is the right way. Godly wisdom is the only true wisdom, and God is willing to extend it liberally to His children for the asking. Be humble enough to ask for wisdom. You will not regret it.
