Godless Religious Leaders

“They eat up the sin of my people, and they set their heart on their iniquity,” Hosea 4:8.
There is a saying that goes, “birds of a feather flock together.” People usually hang around those who are similar to them.
In Israel the majorly of the people of the Northern and Southern Kingdoms seemed to be in similar spiritual condition, they were not taking heed to God’s Word; included in this number were the priests. At the root of Israel’s problem was the fact that there was a spiritual famine because the people were not being taught God’s Word by the priests.
This also can be said about the times we are living in today. A lack of spiritual knowledge is blanketing this world and it is being ushered in through godless religious leaders. In referring to the priests, verse 8 states, “They eat up the sin of my people, and they set their heart on their iniquity.” There are pastors leading religious groups that are more concerned with material advantage rather than being approved by God and many people follow them. You can be led away from the truth and fall into spiritual famine if you are not aware of who is leading you. The Lord is the chief cornerstone of the church He established on earth and you are to follow Him so you can be aware if your pastor is not following the doctrines that Jesus delivered to the saints. A pastor who does not keep his eyes on the Lord cannot see the way to guide you. First John 4:1. “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”

FINAL THOUGHT
Open your eyes to God’s Word so you can see where you are going.
