How Satan Used the Scriptures

“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them,” 2 Corinthians 4:3, 4.
Have you ever hidden something valuable to you? What was the reason? Maybe you did not want it to get dirty or broken. Perhaps it was for a more selfish reason. Thinking, it is mine, I do not want anyone else to have it. To this day, I have a set of silverware put up in my closet given to me by my grandparents when my husband and I were married. Why, because it is special to me.
The gospel is special! Far more so than any set of silverware or anything else you might deem valuable. Paul had no desire to hide it. He proclaimed the gospel loudly and boldly. He did not say, I hide the gospel, but he was giving reference to those who had heard it and refused to believe it. Basically, he was saying the gospel is not hidden by my doing, rather it is someone else’s doing.
Satan is certainly the god of this world. Yet, he cannot do what you do not give him permission to do. The only reason Satan can blind people to the truth is because their hearts are hardened already. There are many reasons for a heart to harden: abuse, neglect, anger or worse than all, their own pride. A heart becomes hardened because of the lies believed in the mind.
Satan blinds anyone he can through lies so they will not believe the Scriptures and start walking in the Light. But the gospel is light and the more it is proclaimed the more people will come to the Light.

Something to Think About
Though it is possible for Satan to blind people because of the hardness of their hearts, you can quite possibly be the light they need for salvation.
