The Activities of Apollos

“And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace: for he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ,” Acts 18:27, 28.

Throughout Christian history, there have been men and women who have greatly impacted the world for Christ. Many of them are people who simply committed themselves to honor God with their choices and faithfully share the gospel every day. Apollos was one such person. Our key verses tell us that he was taught well in the Scriptures and that he faithfully shared the Word of God. Living an impactful life really is this simple.
Many Christians believe that they must be called by God to be a foreign missionary or to pastor a local church if they are going to be used greatly for God. Pastors and missionaries are certainly significant to God’s plan for the work of the kingdom. However, Christian history and biblical record prove to us that God can use people like Apollos to profoundly impact the world for Christ.
If every Christian will commit themselves to know God and His Word, to honor Him with their choices, and to faithfully share the gospel, we could tremendously influence the world for Christ.

REFLECTION: Every believer should strive to be a person fully consecrated to God.
