The Glory of God

“But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: but we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord,” 2 Corinthians 3:7, 18.
Why do you clean mirrors? The purpose of a mirror, of course, is to see your reflection, so you would want the mirror to be clean. This passage refers to how the Law was not perfect and people lived as if under a veil. They could not see the whole picture of sin and death and righteousness and life. It was though they were looking into a dirty mirror and could not see clearly.
Moses on Mount Sinai signified a temporary glory when his face shone as the sun, and the children of Israel could not bear to look upon it. Moses’ glory was short-term, denoting the Law. Christ brought an everlasting glory. The veil has been lifted by the cross. Many Jews still remain under the veil or blind because they refuse to see the truth of the birth, death and resurrection of Christ. Unfortunately, it is not only the Jews who remain under the veil, but many do from all walks of life.
For all those who have believed, you are under liberty, meaning you are free to serve the Lord and love Him. This is something that cannot be done while under the veil (in a lost condition).
Now you see in a mirror clearly. You can see that you are changed. You now can live in a way to glorify the Father by your good works. (See Matthew 5:16.)

Christ has made you clean. Reflect the Savior in all you do.
