Business Manager’s Report - January 2023

Business Manager’s Report, January 2023

The end of one year and the beginning of another is a good time to reflect, repent, recharge, and recommit toward the priorities for the new year. Jesus admonished His followers to “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33). Priority one is the purpose which God has set for each of us. For me, personally, it is to do a better job at Business Manager for the Ministry at Texarkana and at serving the Lord through one of His churches. I first must seek the strength and guidance of the Lord, remembering that this is His work, and therefore, His will is priority. Moving forward under His Lordship, I can see many needs and exciting possibilities for the coming year. Not because of what I or we can do, but because of what God can do through us (Philippians 4:13). Reflecting on the past, I see mistakes and shortcomings from which I can repent and move away from those things to things better. Through communion with the Lord, I can recharge spiritually with the armor of the Lord to meet the coming challenges (Eph. 6:10-11). With the strength of the Lord and a clear vision of the will of God, I can recommit my heart and life toward His will. I find no other work in the world that can be this challenging, yet this exciting, than the work of God. I feel as Paul, as he wrote, “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry” (1 Timothy 1:12).

In the coming year, we have plans to accomplish some needs. We are presently remodeling one area of our building to create a “Bible Room.” This room will be located in the rear of the present Bookstore and will house thousands of Bibles. It is our desire to make shopping at the Bookstore for a Bible a “personal experience.” Such a Bible Room, as we plan to have, will be unique, as it will put great importance on a person’s personal Bible. We hope to have it together and in operation in February. Also, we will be updating some areas of our facilities, such as, some needed repairs to our rear parking area. As we move forward into 2023, I am blessed to serve with a great group of folks at Texarkana. Come visit when you can.

Thank you, Bro. Jim Crain
