CEO’s Report - August 2024

BSSC CEO’s August 1, 2024 PR Report:

As the summer continues, the work likewise moves forward. Some of the projects on the building and grounds are in process. The front yard trees that were becoming a problem have been removed along with the stumps. If you have not visited our location in a while, you may find that the front looks very different. A new “Baptist Book Store” sign also on the front of the building should be installed during the first week in August. We have been waiting on the contractor to get time to do the job. Our new 15-Ton air conditioner for the warehouse has been installed and is making a big difference. It is a good thing we did that because the other older unit of the four in the warehouse has just quit working and is beyond repair. This was the last old one left of the four units needing replacing and so it will likely be replaced next spring and will cost approximately $26,000.00. The new paper cutter, at a cost of $113,000.00, was installed the week of July 9 and is working great. I also was just informed of another machine that has broken and needs replacing at a cost of about $10,000.00, and so goes the needs of this ministry. Updating the bathrooms also will begin soon. We are thankful that God has blessed us to be able to perform these updates.

God has continued to bless me to be able to visit and preach among the brethren. I recently visited the brethren of the Florida State Association and was so very blessed to visit First Baptist Church at Silver Springs, Florida and Pastor Wayne Hunter. Attending one of the Bogg Spring’s Camps this summer was certainly a blessing. I recently spoke at Mt Zion MBC in Cale, Arkansas, the church that baptized me, and it is always a joy to fill in preach for my pastor at Calvary MBC, Magnolia, AR. I am planning on visiting some of the opening day activities at some of our ABA Seminaries and looking forward to visiting in September with the brethren at Somerset, Kentucky. Being out among the brethren allows me to be more accessible to the brethren of the churches so that I might know any concerns about the work in Texarkana, which is all about serving the churches of the American Baptist Association.

If you are in Texarkana, please come visit. If I can be of any service to you, please ask. Again, thank you for the opportunity to serve.
