CEO’s Report - December 2023

CEO’s December 1, 2023 Report:
Thanksgiving has passed and Christmas is at the door of time. The time between the two holidays seems so short that the two seem to run together. Perhaps, putting the two together, at least in our minds, is a good idea. The result might be “Thankful for Christ.” If we are to be thankful at all, certainly, it should be for the greatest gift of all time, Jesus Christ, our Savior. The Shepherds of Luke 2 received the best news as the angels sang of the birth of the Savior. I wasn’t there that night, but through my early years on earth, like many others, I heard at Christmas time of the birth of Jesus Christ. While there are things about Christmas time in our society that we might criticize, I am glad there is a time when the world is reminded of the birth of the Savior. Let the world know, that the message of Christmas is that a Savior has come, and through His coming, the world has hope of peace and good will among men.
All is well at Texarkana. While the hustle and bustle of Christmas season happens outside, the normal work of the BSSC continues inside. The bookstore is busy of course with the Christmas time sales. The printing and publication of literature continues as we are ahead of schedule; thank the Lord. Planning and actions are being taken for the closing out of the year 2023 and the starting of 2024. Changes are planned for the coming year that should help our finances as we continue to slowly recover from the Covid experience. I pray that God will bless our churches as they perform the edicts of the Great Commission. Churches are already planning for their summer VBS as we plan for the February 24th VBS Seminar at Northern Hills MBC, Texarkana.
As this year comes to an end, I am reminded of how much God has blessed the ministry and me to be able to serve in this capacity. Although I realize I have learned much in just over a year in place, so much more exists for me to learn and do. I am thankful for the BSSC brethren and a wonderful group of Employees. May you all be blessed in this season of celebration of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Call or come visit me in Texarkana anytime.
