Service Love

It is sad that, way too often, you see folks who make a profession of faith and never seem to get any sort of Christian life into motion. Sometimes people do not even do the first step of that life and follow their Lord in scriptural baptism. Even worse are those who seem to do all the right things while in God’s house, but outside of that small part of their lives, there seems to be little evidence of a changed life. Even worse yet are those who openly and notoriously live lives of license and sin because they seem to think they have punched their get out of hell card and can do whatever they want.

That is not Christian freedom at all! While none of you can truly know the heart of another, this is not a sign of freedom in Christ, because that is not freedom to keep on living in sin; in fact, that would be a heinous abuse of God’s grace. That might even be a life of one still in bondage of sin, and not freed from it or its penalty at all. Christian freedom means freedom from the chain of sin. Jesus paid the price for your freedom on the cross!

Freedom from sin means you are free to do the things that Jesus taught; that is to love. Because He first loved you, you can love Him. Because you love Him, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit empowers you to love one another.

JUST A THOUGHT: The saved in Jesus will never be denied entry to His Heaven but living wrong will see you lose crowns and rewards.
