Blotting Out Sins

I enjoy the big blue sky of Texas. There is nothing like a clear sunny day when the sky seems to go on forever. Many days, the sky is dotted with scattered clouds that alter the appearance of the sky that I love so much. Some days, thick clouds move in and darken the sun and completely fill the expanse of the sky so that it is nearly impossible to see beyond their puffy presence.
Isaiah declared that God blots out the sins of His children like the clouds and removes them from view. God calls out to us and invites us back into fellowship and declares that our sins are no longer between us and Him. God offers forgiveness through Jesus’ sacrifice and causes our sins to be blotted from view when we turn to Him in contrition.
When we have sinned against God, we can be hindered from approaching Him due to our guilt or the lies of Satan that bombard us. Yet, to the repentant Christian, God reminds him that He has blotted his sins out and restored him to fellowship with God. As a loving Father, God has paid the price for everyone’s sin. God therefore, and God only has the right to declare us restored.
Sin can steal our joy and cause us to remain distant from God. Yet, we are reminded in 1 John 2:1, “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” Repent! Turn away from your sin and back to God and return to the joyful fellowship that He so desires with you.

REFLECTION: Do not allow sin to keep you from fellowship with God.
Repent and return to His embrace.
