Jesus Will Return

“Pastor, you see our island, how we are thirsty and hungry, and we are poor. Our clothing has holes. Our children are sick, and one mother is dying. We have an oppressor and there is no one who will help us. If only we had a well. If only our water was free, we would drink, and our gardens would grow again.” —Memoirs of a Missionary, Glen Knight
The drought had lasted for six long years on the island. And people were dying. Our presence among them was hardly a passing circumstance, as the Lord used the occasion to help us see their desperation. One cannot imagine that officials had not discovered their plight, but if anyone had, none had offered to help. We knew immediately, upon offering assistance to these languishing souls that there was an enemy. He was a man who claimed the island as his own and seemed to truly hope the people would die. And he opposed us face-to-face with his authoritarian presence to which we only answered, “Our God is greater than you!” Our plan to drill a water well was met with opposition and a demand that we climb the mountain and drill there on the slope. We drilled, 20', 40', 65' into the mountain and there, God provided an aquifer of cold, fresh water! We glorified the Lord for His power and souls turned to Him in faith.
The prophet tells us of the Lord’s coming again. In this great event, a mountain will be moved and a blessing for God’s people will come. Despite their oppression and hopeless despair, He provides the way of escape and protection through His very presence!

AN AMAZING TRUTH: The result of Jesus physically standing again at the place of His previous
departure will punctuate His great promise to return!
