Peter Heals Aeneas

“There are many sorts of broken hearts, and Christ is good at healing them all.”- Spurgeon

The Apostles followed the direction of Holy Spirit from town to town as they preached the Gospel. Often, God empowered them to heal someone physically to testify of the power of God and to draw people to Himself. As Peter entered Lydda, God led him to a man sick of the palsy name Aeneas. God saw fit to heal this man to declare His power among the people at Lydda and Saron. Scripture tells us that everyone who saw this miracle turned to the Lord.

God has a History of using great means to draw people to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. In this passage, he uses the healing of a known crippled man to show His power among the people. This resulted in a great move of God among the people of Lydda and Saron when many were born again by faith in Christ.

God may still use extraordinary circumstances to draw people to Himself. He also uses ordinary circumstances such as Christians sharing the Gospel faithfully and showing the love of Christ intentionally to bring people to Himself. The power of God that healed Aeneas can draw the lost, confused, bitter, and wretched sinners to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Reflection. There is no greater healing than a lost soul rescued from the grips of sin by the Grace of God
