The Rewarder of Diligent Seekers

Someone said, “Failure is not falling down. Failure is not getting up after you have fallen.”

Many Christians believe they are no longer of use to God once they have fallen into sin. They may give up on pursing God thinking they are a failure due to a sinful choice. However, Scripture is filled with Christians who sinned tremendously, but God still used them. Why? Because they pursued Him!

Every Christian named in this chapter had several sinful choices recorded in Scripture. Yet, God graciously and gloriously continued to use them after they had fallen. These great heroes of the faith were not marked by a life of perfection. Instead, they were marked by a life of falling in sin then getting up and pursing God again.

Throughout Scripture, God paints a picture of how faith is shown in our obedience to Him, or our pursuit of Him. Without faith, we cannot please God. But, with faith, we diligently seek Him even when we fall. He is faithful to reward those who diligently seek Him.

As carnal humans, we may be thinking of very human rewards from God. However, He rewards us with very spiritual rewards: grace, restoration, mercy, forgiveness, renewal, freedom from guilt, and so much more. When we fall in sin, we must not consider our life a failure. We must reach out to God for forgiveness and continue to pursue Him diligently so that we may enjoy His reward: a sweet relationship with Him!

JUST A THOUGHT: Do not allow your mistakes to keep you down. Diligently seek God in faith and He will reward you with Himself.
