The Great Honor for Jerusalem

“His foundation is in the holy mountains. The Lord loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob. Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah. I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to them that know me: behold Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia; this man was born there. And of Zion it shall be said, this and that man was born in her: and the highest himself shall establish her. The Lord shall count, when he writeth up the people, that this man was born there. Selah. As well the singers as the players on instruments shall be there: all my springs are in thee,” Psalm 87:1-7.

What is so special about a city, especially such a small city like Jerusalem? As God has chosen to reveal Himself to the world through His people, He has chosen the city of Jerusalem to be the center of His eternal plan. In Jerusalem, God gathered His people to worship Him in the Temple for many generations. God chose Jerusalem to be the seat of His chosen King David. God also declared that our Messiah, Jesus, would reign from Jerusalem during His thousand years of righteous rule on the earth.

God has chosen to show His glory and declare salvation through His people in all generations. From a small remnant of humanity, God shows His goodness and mercy to all mankind in every generation. From this small town in the middle of the desert, God has chosen to reveal His might to all mankind, both historically and in the not so distant future.

JUST A THOUGHT
Keep your eyes on Jerusalem, God’s beloved city. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
