Paul Is Invited To Give His Testimony
“Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Thou art permitted to speak for thyself. Then Paul stretched forth the hand, and answered for himself,” Acts 26:1.
Most times in life when people do not understand something about us or misunderstand our intent, they must make assumptions. How many times have you found that you were totally misunderstood, and that people reacted based on completely faulty information? Sadly, people are lazy that way. It is far easier to act on limited or faulty information than it is to dig out complete, accurate information. On the other hand, occasionally, we get an opportunity to explain our positions more clearly.
In our devotional passage, Agrippa gave Paul just such an opportunity. Paul was about to get to share Jesus with the man who was the most powerful man in Judea. What an opportune moment! Not many of us get such a golden opportunity as this. On the other hand, God puts people in our paths daily with whom we can share the gospel message. All deserve to hear it, whether they are great or small, and God offers the chance to us.
Do those around you have a reason to offer you the opportunity to explain your faith to them? If you are an undercover Christian, so to speak, then others might never see anything about which they feel compelled to ask. Are you living an example that makes people curious? Of course, it must be a positive example, but not if you are being asked to explain bad behavior, then there is a problem. As a final thought, ask yourself this. If someone were to ask you about your testimony, are you willing and able to share the gospel with him?
THOUGHT: How will people ask about your faith if you do not live in such a way that makes them ask?
