Love Waxing Cold

It has been said that many Christians are like children; they would sow and reap the same day. It is easy to become tired of sowing and be anxious for the harvest. It is human nature to struggle toward faithfulness and fruitfulness when the surrounding circumstances are disheartening. Jesus revealed that a lack of faithfulness and fervor in the hearts of believers are some of the signs of the end times.

As Christians, we live in a foreign land, yet we do not live for this land. Our purpose is to be faithful to our eternal King by living righteously and bringing others into His kingdom. If we are to look finitely at the circumstances around us, it would be difficult for us to see any progress toward the eternal agenda. If we focus on temporal views, it would be quite easy for us to become disheartened and lessen our efforts for the gospel.

As sin abounds around us and this world system becomes less welcoming to the Christian, we must keep our eyes on Christ and remember He has already won the final victory. As we strive each day in hostile territory to share the good news of the kingdom of God, we must remember that obedience is victory. We could tend to grow weary when we do not see measurable results for our efforts. Yet, Christ has called us to faithfully carry out the message of the gospel and leave the results to Him. As sin abounds around us, do not be disheartened. The darker the night of sinfulness, the brighter the light of Christ will shine. “For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for the night, but joy cometh in the morning” (Psalm 30:5).

JUST A THOUGHT: Do not lose heart dear Christian. Christ has already conquered sin.
