David’s Testimony

“But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble,” Psalm 59:16.

Every single child of God has a powerful testimony of who Christ is and the wonderful works He has done. In the book of Acts, Peter and John had healed a lame man by the power of the Lord Jesus. It had caused quite a stir among the people and caught the attention of priests and Sadducees as well. But Peter and John testified of Jesus with great boldness, stating that salvation comes only through Him. The Jewish leaders then took Peter and John and commanded them not to speak or teach in the name of Jesus again. But they could not contain the joy and hope that was within their hearts. They responded, “We cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:20).

It is fitting for the disciples of our Lord to testify of His wonderful works. David gave testimony of how the Lord had worked in his life. He had been a shelter and strength to David during the most desperate situations. He had defended him and put a song in his heart. He had a testimony to share of the power of Almighty God. He could not contain the marvelous works of the Lord in his life.

You also have a testimony that is meant to be shared with others. If you have salvation in and through Jesus Christ, you have a wonderful, powerful testimony. The gospel was not meant to be hidden away, but rather shared with as many as possible throughout your life. However, your testimony does not stop there. The Lord is also your refuge in times of trouble, your strength in times of weakness. Testify of His goodness. Speak of His power. Sing of His mercy. Do not hide your joy in Him.

REFLECTION
God will use your testimony. He just needs you to be a willing vessel.
