Isaiah’s Prophecy Fulfilled

“And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed,” Isaiah 6:9, 10

Imagine being given a charge to share a message but with that charge is a guarantee that no one will listen or believe. This was Isaiah’s plight as God showed him the extravagant glory of the throne room in Heaven. Isaiah was commanded to go and share the testimony of what he had seen yet God declared that the people would not believe.
God’s people have been given the charge to declare the glorious message of the gospel to a lost and unbelieving world. At times, Satan will discourage us into thinking that it is pointless to obey because nobody will listen. We may even convince ourselves that it is a hopeless task because few, if any, will believe. Yet, the command remains the same: “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15).
Isaiah was not charged with manufacturing results. He was simply commanded to declare the message that God had given him. Likewise, you and I are not in the business of manufacturing conversions through creative means. Christian, we are commanded by God to proclaim the good news of Jesus to everyone we encounter. As the farmer cannot make a crop appear out of thin air, neither can we cause people to believe the gospel. Yet, we are commanded to faithfully show the world what it means to live for Christ, share the love of Christ with our actions, and faithfully say with our mouth, “Jesus saves!”

THOUGHT: Christians have the distinct honor of proclaiming the saving message of Jesus to a lost world. Even if we rarely experience the fruit of a converted life, we must keep proclaiming.
