God Is Faithfull, Serve Him Only

“Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations,” (Deuteronomy 7:9).

The Coca-Cola and Pepsi-Cola companies have been rivals for many years. If you talk to people about the two different colas, they typically have a preference towards one over the other and are faithful to their favorite and have brand loyalty. It has been said over the years that if you work for either of these companies that you are not allowed to bring anything with the other brand name into work with you or face corrective action. These companies expect their employees to be faithful to their brand. Similarly, God expects us to be faithful and loyal to Him.

God told the children of Israel that they were to be holy, special to Him, and thus different than everyone else (Deuteronomy 7:6). Today as children of God, nothing has changed, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light,” (1 Peter 2:9). God does not just tell us to follow and serve Him but has given us a reason to have a loyalty to Him (Deuteronomy 7:9). Though he had told them to keep His commandments (1 Deuteronomy 7:11), they still had to make a choice to serve Him. The same choice is put to us today, but will we be loyal to him or try to split our loyalties between Him and the world, “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon,” (Matthew 6:24)?

JUST A THOUGHT: Maybe you would be more faithful to God if you took the time to realize how faithful He has been to you.
