The Glorious King and His Kingdom

“Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah,” Psalm 24:10.

He shall come as lightning out of the east that illuminates the sky like never before. The glorious King is coming. His eyes burn bright as flames of fire, His robe dipped in blood, and out of His mouth a sharp sword with which He will strike down the nations. On His head are many crowns, and He is called the Word of God, Faithful and True. This King of Glory will ride upon a white horse, and the armies of Heaven follow Him clothed in fine, white linen (Revelation 19:11-14). “And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one” (Zechariah 14:9). This is Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords.

At His first coming, Christ came to this earth as a lowly servant, the son of a carpenter. He was here for a specific purpose, to give His life a ransom for many. He came to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10), and His message was clear, “Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 4:17). Those who have received His message and turned their hearts to Christ have become citizens of His glorious kingdom.

At His second coming, Christ will come with great power and glory to rule and reign on this earth. Until then, what are you doing to help build His kingdom? The commission to make disciples was given to the Lord’s New Testament churches. As a member of one of His churches, you are part of something very special and exciting. Look for opportunities to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. You are not responsible for the outcome, but there are great blessings for those who seek to build the kingdom of God.

REFLECTION
Considering you are a citizen of Heaven, have you let go of earthly attachments that weigh you down?
