Faithful in the Ministry

“And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he
counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry,” 1 Timothy 1:12.

In Yellowstone National Park, there is a geyser named Old Faithful. It is named that because it erupts so regularly. According to National Park Service data, Old Faithful has erupted every forty-four minutes to two hours since 2002. That is fairly amazing, as geysers are not normally that regular. People love to visit Old Faithful because it is one of the most famous and visited attractions in Yellowstone Park. People love faithfulness in others. We apply the word faithful to workplaces, marriages and others things. God uses the word quite often in His Word. He describes Himself as faithful, and He expects faithfulness from His children as well.
Faithfulness is problematic for many people. Sadly, many do not even have the desire to be faithful in their Christian lives, and many allow any and all distractions to turn them to the side in that walk. On the other hand, many want to be faithful to living the lives God wants them to live. Do you know that even though you may have a strong desire to remain faithful in your Christian life, you may find that you are not always successful? We are unsuccessful because we are human, and we continue to fall short of God’s perfection and will do so until we enter glory with Jesus. We fail because we rely on our human strength and ability to perform at God’s standard.
If you are doing that, stop it! You will never fully succeed trying to call up the power within yourself to do God’s work. What is the answer? Read the devotional verse. It is because God has enabled us. The power is there, all you must do is allow Him to work. Quit striving, let God work through you, and things will go much better.

THOUGHT: God calls us to complete a mission, then He empowers us to complete it.
