What Manner of Love

An odd survey of couples who met online via social media says these couples are more likely to stay married than traditional romances. Social scientists cannot decide why this is true. Perhaps they spend more time learning each other’s character by messaging on Facebook. Some do not seriously date for years.

The greatest love story ever told is the story of God and His love for mankind and all His creation. In eternity past, Jesus was “the lamb slain from the foundation of the world” (Revelation 13:8). Out of love Jesus died so that you could live. “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near” (Isaiah 55:6). “Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father” (John 10:17, 18).

Thought: “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).
