Live and Walk in the Spirit

"If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit;' Galatians 5:25.

One of my favorite things about the writings of the apostle Paul is how logical he was. His arguments make alot of sense if you read them in context. I would love to hear him debate some of the liars and skeptics in our world today. I have a feeling he would be very successful.

When we are saved, we are indwelt by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13). We live in the Spirit because we are children of God. This is a spiritual consideration with spiritual benefits. But we are also to walk in the Spirit. Paul used a different word here for walking than he used in Galatians 5:16. In verse 16, the word "walk" means conduct or manner of living. In verse 25, Paul talked about walking in an orderly fashion. In other words, we are to follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit as He leads. I am so blessed to be a dad. Our youngest is three years old. He was a surprise for us, but we are blessed to have him. Parenting him is different because I am almost fifty-years-old. When my other children were young, I was much younger. If our family went to the store and one of the children decided to take off down the wrong aisle, I could chase him down and get him back on the right path. When this three-year-old takes off, I take a couple of steps toward him and then start yelling, "Come back here!" I just cannot chase a child the way I used to do. And for him, a new adventure with countless distractions awaits on every aisle in a store. It would be so

much easier for me if he would just follow me like I ask him to do.

JUST A THOUGHT

Do you follow your Heavenly Father like He has called you? Do not let life's distractions affect your walk with God.
