Jesus Demonstrates His Power

“After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was
restored, and saw every man clearly. And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town,” Mark 8:25, 26.

An alcoholic who became a believer was asked how he could possibly believe all the nonsense in the Bible about miracles. “You do not believe that Jesus changed the water into wine do you?” “I sure do, because in our house Jesus changed the whiskey into furniture.”

Jesus rarely performed miracles in the same fashion. Could you fathom that Jesus would give a blind man his sight by spitting on the man’s eyes? After all, Jesus had healed other blind people by simply speaking. It is hard to understand how or why Jesus healed this man in this way. But there is no denying that Jesus healed him and gave him his sight.

When Jesus demonstrates His power in the life of a believer, He may
not work in the same manner as He does in your life. When Jesus saves a sinner out of addiction or when He rescues a lost church member from their false profession, we have only to praise Him for what He has done. I imagine the blind man was unconcerned with being spat upon after he regained his sight. Christian, no matter what method Jesus uses, you should not hesitate to praise God when a lost sinner is saved or when a prayer for healing is answered.

FINAL THOUGHT: When Jesus demonstrates His power in the lives of people, Christians can rejoice in the wonder working power of God.
