The Sign of True Disciples

The phrase, Show me the money! We get that. Simply put, it means to quit talking empty words and show me something of substance. There are other phrases with that meaning. Walk the talk, and the proof is in the pudding.

Empty words with nothing of substance are just that; they are empty words with no meaning. Unfortunately, many Christian lives are empty and void in this way. Many speak words of faith, and even quote the Bible, yet their actions seem to be in contradiction to the words they speak. They seem to say with one hand that God is love, and with the other hand smack others in the metaphorical head! Jesus’ words were never empty; He showed you this by His willing sacrifice with His daily life, and His ultimate and final sacrifice of Himself on the cross of Calvary. Jesus showed His love for everyone.

He commanded you to love others in your daily life; He further tells you that this love is the only way others will know you are His. Pious words and Bible verses are empty and void unless they are backed by sacrificial love that the world can see. He commanded you to do this, and show your love for Him by keeping His commandments (John 14:15). This is not difficult! You do not work to pay back a debt, which you cannot repay in the first place; you work and love others because you love Him. The world needs what you have. How will they know what you have with no evidence?

JUST A THOUGHT: A Christian talk without a Christian walk is going nowhere.
