The Lord Raised Up Prophets

“He was a student who came from deep in the interior and high up on a mountainside. His small stature, manner of dress and his speech all gave him the appearance of being an outsider and in many ways, made him unacceptable to most people in the city. But a quirky smile and a beautiful singing voice soon endeared him to those of us who were willing to give him the chance to fit. But his was not a desire to remain for long. His heart was fixed upon his own people and to them, he would soon return.” —Memoirs of a Missionary, Glen Knight
How the Lord works to prepare specific people for particular jobs has always been an amazing thing to me. I have known for a long time that not everyone can do what only a few can, simply because one lacks not only the fortitude, but also the prowess. But you would never know them because there is nothing spectacular about their appearance or demeanor. In most ways, they are common. And because of that, sometimes, they are rejected. But God sees in people, the things that others cannot see. Jesus is the prime example. It was He, who came, being the “Prophet” spoken of by Moses in Deuteronomy 18:15. Though disregarded by His own people, He remains the solitary hope of salvation for the entire world! And others whom God has sent into the world from ancient times until now, have spoken of that salvation. There is a compelling force behind all who desire to labor in gospel ministry. It is that “necessity” spoken of by the apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 9:16. And further, it is that desire to go home with good news!

AN AMAZING TRUTH: God will always prepare those whose hearts are obedient to Him.
