From the 2018 Missions Archives: Love To All The Saints - The Furtherance of the Gospel
In Colossians 1:3-4, Paul states; “We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints.” It is faith that links us to what Jesus Christ did for us in our past. It is by faith in Christ that we are forgiven of sin and by faith that we can receive the new birth. Because of this faith in Christ, we can then experience this love for all the saints. Romans 5:5 tells us that the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who is given unto us. This love is an evidence of our salvation, I John 3:14. It is also a testimony of our discipleship, John 13:35.
Paul was very careful to mention the love that this church had for all the saints. In fact, Paul specifically prayed prayers of thankfulness to God for the love this church expressed to the saints. This is what this edition of the Mission News and Views is all about, bringing encouragement and excitement to missionaries and their families through Mission Conferences and Mission Revivals. Thank God for churches who are willing to allocate a specific time each year to invest, highlight and recognize faithful missionaries of the Lord. What a tremendous blessing this is not only for the missionaries but for the churches as well.
For the past 7 years, my family and I have been privileged to attend mission conferences and revivals all across our nation and some foreign countries. I have taken notice how God has used these special occasions to encourage, energize and revitalize God’s men and their families. I have also noticed how God has tremendously poured out His blessings upon these churches who have a heart for missions. God blesses churches who make missions a priority! The conferences and special meetings listed in this edition of the News and Views are just a few of the recent meetings that we have attended or have received information from.
As you scan through the pages of this magazine, may your heart rejoice in the expression of God’s love through His churches to His people. I also ask that you prayerfully consider the challenge presented by the newly elected President of the ABA, Bro. Terry Parrish.
May the Lord continue to use the generosity of His churches for His glory, and to make a difference in our generation.
Sincerely,
Bryan Sellers
