The CEB Blog - April 2025

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven…a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing” (Ecclesiastes 3:1, 5).

It has been my absolute pleasure to serve as the Editor in Chief of Bogard Press these last nearly four years. When we made the move to Texarkana from Garland, we had no idea the challenge that lay before us, but God was faithful to supply our every need. God has used our time here to lead us into a season of ministerial rejuvenation, but the move also came with unexpected challenges in our family. I will not be seeking reelection as Editor in Chief at the annual meeting this June. Many personal and ministerial circumstances have gone into this decision, and I do not make it lightly.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Bogard Press, and in my opinion, the ministry – especially the Editorial department – is in great shape. During my time here at Bogard Press, I have learned very much about the publication ministry, and we have made several improvements on our curriculum and VBS materials. The Editorial department is ahead of schedule in every regard, with 2027 VBS nearing completion. Morale in the workplace is high, and anxiety is low. For this, much credit is due to the leadership of Bro. Crain and especially to the Editorial Supervisor, Libby Gill. The next Editor will be able to take his time learning the ministry and culture of Bogard Press without the anxiety of looming deadlines, a stressful work environment or an extreme workload.

I am grateful for the privilege of serving the churches through Bogard Press and for the encouragement and support I received from the Committee and Bogard Press team while laboring here. God has shown that He is not through with Bogard Press, and He deserves praise for the favor He has shown to this ministry.

Respectfully submitted,

Mark Clements
