Bible Challenge!

“[Bible Challenge] helped me know more about God’s Word…this is a great, fun way
to get involved with the Bible and it’s not boring—it’s fun!”

(Mallory Hays, 7-9th Grade 2023 Bible Challenge National Winner)

Bible Challenge is a 26-week curriculum produced by Bogard Press for children age 3 to grade 12 that leads students to love, embrace and memorize God’s Word. Student books include lessons, activities and memorization tools that coordinate with the lessons provided in the teacher book. Bible Challenge Series 3 is available at www.bogardpress.org. Consider using Bible Challenge in your student ministries this school year.

While many churches use Bible Challenge simply as a trustworthy student resource, one interesting and fun aspect of the product is the competition component. For churches desiring to test the Bible knowledge retention of their High School students, they may join competitions starting each spring. In competitions, each student receives an opportunity to quickly show his/her knowledge of God’s Word and Bible handling skills. As students progress, they accumulate points, and students with the highest points at the state level receive the invitation to compete on the national level at the annual ABA Messenger Meeting.

This year in Spokane, Washington, three High School students from New York, Florida and Mississippi made it to the National Bible Challenge Competition: Schuyler Ann Branscum, Althea Tabler and Mallory Hays. All three ladies performed brilliantly on the main stage of the meeting, demonstrating exceptional knowledge and skill in the handling of God’s Word. Congratulations go to Mallory Hays for winning the 7-9th grade division and Althea Tabler for winning the 10-12th grade division.

The competition component of Bible Challenge requires students to memorize Bible verses, books of the Bible, doctrines and passages in God’s Word, and the students’ abilities to quickly provide the information hidden in their hearts comes in handy as they grow into adulthood. Whether you choose to enter competitions or not, Bible Challenge is a tremendous resource for discipleship of students.
