Fall 2022 Overview of the Adult Sunday School Material

Come join us for an exciting and fulfilling study through the books of Joshua, Judges and Ruth entitled “Living Victoriously in Uncertain Times” in the Adult Study Guide and the Adult Lesson Commentary for Fall 2022.

The book of Joshua gives us the historical record of how God called Joshua to be the leader of the nation of Israel after the death of Moses. God gives Joshua great assurances in Joshua 1:9, “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” This promise from God is a promise to us today so that we might enjoy the great victories that God has in store for us. Unfortunately, the book of Judges tells a different story. It is a story of spiritual decline in Israel. The testimony of their spiritual decline is seen in Judges 17:6, “In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.” However, the book of Ruth tells the story of Jesus as our Kinsman-Redeemer. No matter how far removed you might be from God, you are never too far from the redeeming power of the Lord Jesus Christ.

A Daily Devotionals quarterly is available in conjunction with the Adult Study Guide as three different writers share devotional thoughts each day of the quarter to encourage you as you serve the Lord on your daily journey. Watch for the new format starting in the Fall 2022 quarter, as each writer will be writing every third day instead of a month at a time. We have two new writers for this quarter: Steven Ridings and David Thompson. We have several new writers who will be contributing devotionals for Bogard Press. Please pray for them. We will introduce you to the new writers each quarter.

The Young Adult Quarterly will examine the subject entitled “Women of the Old Testament.” The writer attempts to help the student identify the “Heroines, Vixens and Villains of the Old Testament.
