Winter 2022-2023 Overview of the Adult Sunday School Materials

Come join us for an exciting and Holy Spirit power-packed study of the book of Acts entitled “The Power of the Holy Spirit Through the Churches” in the Adult Study Guide and the Adult Lesson Commentary for Winter 2022-2023.

In the winter quarter, we will examine chapters 1—14. In these chapters, we will see that the Lord commanded His disciples to be witnesses to the uttermost parts of the world. “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth” (Acts 1:8).  We will then see how the Holy Spirit empowered the Lord’s church in Jerusalem for the purpose of spreading the gospel in Acts chapter 2. All of this was just the beginning of the work that the Holy Spirit would do as He began to turn the world upside down.

The Adult Study Guide and the Adult Lesson Commentary will thoroughly explain the quarterly aim: “The student will observe the power of the Holy Spirit as He works through the church in Jerusalem to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world.”

A Daily Devotionals quarterly is available in conjunction with the Adult Study Guide as three different writers share devotional thoughts each day of the quarter to encourage you as you serve the Lord on your daily journey. The new format that started in the Fall 2022 quarter where each writer will be writing every third day instead of a month at a time will continue and become the regular format.

The Young Adult Quarterly will examine the subject entitled “The Greatest—the Life and Ministry of John the Baptist.” The writer attempts to help the student learn from the life and ministry of John the Baptist to serve God in transitional times and will grasp the importance of standing for the truth even when his stand offends society and defies tradition:
