What Is VBS?

Vacation Bible School, or VBS, is a seasonal program offered by many churches, usually during the summer break from school. Most VBS programs are created to be immersive experiences to bring children and families greater understanding of God and His Word. 
 
Vacation Bible School has been around as a successful ministry outreach model for over 100 years. While each church might offer varying degrees of educational elements, most VBS programs will include teaching time, singing, snacks, games, crafts and skits. A successful VBS will offer a multi-sensory experience to participants which will allow them to understand and apply the Bible to their lives.  

The goal of Vacation Bible School is to introduce people to Jesus and inspire them to follow Him. Many Christians made commitments to follow Jesus as the result of a VBS.
