The High School Student includes weekly lessons that provides instructions to encourage the student to read, study and apply biblical principles in his daily walk with the Lord.  An in-class guide to help students understand the Scripture and relate Bible teaching to their daily lives. 

During class students read the High School Student book, Scripture text, talk through the discussion questions and apply Scripture to life together.

The students also have a High School Journal available as a home study aid.

This curriculum line follows a three-year topical scope and sequence where students study one topic over the course of the quarter with each lesson focused around a specific lesson aim.

LIVING FOR CHRIST (Your Life As a Disciple)

 

LESSON OUTLINE:

Salvation (Ephesians 2:8-10; Acts 16:29-32)

Aim: By the end of the lesson, the I will understand and apply the plan of salvation.

Security of the Believer (John 5:24; 6:37-40; Romans 8:33-39)

Aim: By the end of the lesson, I will understand that believers are safe in Jesus.

Saved To Serve (Acts 1:8; Ephesians 2:10; Philippians 2:3-9)

Aim: By the end of the lesson, I will understand that salvation is a beginning, not an end.

Baptism (Matthew 3:13-17; 28:18-20)

Aim: By the of the lesson, I will discuss the meaning and relevance of baptism.

The Lord’s Supper (1 Corinthians 11:23-34)

Aim: By the end of the lesson, I will understand the solemnity of the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper.

The Origin of the Church (Matthew 16:18; 18:20)

Aim: By the end of the lesson, I will understand that Jesus personally began His church.

The Nature of the Church (Revelation 2:1, 8, 12, 18; 3:1, 7, 14; 1 Corinthians 1:2)

Aim: By the end of the lesson, I will understand that the church is a local, visible body.

Church Government (Luke 22:24-27; Acts 1:14-26)

Aim: By the end of the lesson, I will understand and discuss equality of church membership.

Church Offices (1 Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-9)

Aim: By the end of the lesson, I will discuss the duties of the pastors and deacons.

The First Christians (Acts 11)

Aim: By the end of the lesson, I will understand the results of witnessing.

The First Mission Work (Acts 13)

Aim: By the end of the lesson, I will understand the biblical teaching of mission work.

Churches in All Ages (Matthew 16:18; 28:20; Jude 3)

Aim: By the end of the lesson, I will see how truth has been preserved and error introduced.

A Christian’s Future (John 14:1-10)

Aim: By the end of the lesson, I will discuss death and the second coming of Christ.
